Important Meeting TONIGHT of the Fairfax County Family Life Education Curriculum Advisory Committee (FLECAC)
February 8, 2018 News Schedule
Dear parishioners:
I’m sorry for this late notice, I just discovered this myself, but here is an important meeting TONIGHT of the Fairfax County Family Life Education Curriculum Advisory Committee (FLECAC). Please consider attending the meeting to signify your solidarity with the many families in our parishes whose children attend Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS).
The attached documents indicate that the FLECAC will be considering a recommendation to change the FLE curriculum in a manner that obscures the fundamental truth that “that biological sex and the socio-cultural role of sex (gender) can be distinguished but not separated” (Amoris laetitia, 56). In other words, the FLECAC may recommend the inclusion of what is known as the ideology of gender (or gender ideology) in the FLE curriculum in the FCPS.
I hope that you will take the time to read these documents, and as a result, understand the significance of Thursday’s meeting. Click here for the 11 Jan 18 Meeting Minutes. Click here for the Agenda 8 Feb 18.
The meeting is open to the public, and will take place at: Gatehouse Administration Center, 8115 Gatehouse Road, Falls Church, VA 22042, Room 3050/3051, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Although there will not be the opportunity to give testimony at the hearing, your presence would be a powerful witness to the truth about human sexuality.
Try to attend if you can. I will try to be there if I can rearrange my schedule.
God bless.
