- (August 2021) The Christian Post – Virginia school district passes controversial policy forcing teachers to use trans pronouns (Va. school district passes broad trans student policy | U.S. News | The Christian Post)
- The Loudoun County School (LCPS) Board voted 7-2 on Wednesday to approve Policy 8040: Rights of Transgender and Gender-Expansive Students despite considerable opposition to the proposal.
- Policy 8040 requires that school faculty and staff use the chosen name and pronouns of a student who identifies as “gender-expansive or transgender.”
- Bryon Tanner Cross, a teacher at Leesburg Elementary School, was suspended by LCPS for speaking out against the proposed policy at a school board meeting in May.
This is the Loudon equivalent of the FCPS policy, i.e., more evidence public schools are implementing the Virginia Model Plan.
